Who Payoneer suits
People paid by marketplaces and platforms (Upwork, Fiverr, Amazon and many others pay into it) and anyone who needs receiving details in currencies their bank does not offer.
On the calculator's two reference payments, Payoneer takes 2.19% of $5,000.00 from a US client to a Spanish business, and 1.15% of €1,000.00 between Germany and Spain, where there is no currency to convert.
What to watch out for
- Receiving a payment from a client costs a percentage of the gross, before any conversion.
- The conversion fee on withdrawal starts at the lowest published rate and can go higher; the calculator uses the lowest one, so your real cost may be above it.
- There is an annual account fee below a yearly receiving threshold, which a single-payment calculator does not spread.
How to pay less with Payoneer
- Use it where it is the platform's cheapest payout option, and move direct clients to a cheaper bank-transfer account.
- Withdraw in the same currency where possible to avoid the conversion fee, and convert with a cheaper provider.
- Check your volume against the annual-fee threshold at the start of each year.
