Revolut Business pricing comes down to a monthly fee that buys allowances: how much you can exchange at the interbank rate and how many transfers you can send for free. For a freelancer paid in dollars or pounds, almost everything depends on one number, how much you convert each month, and that number tells you which plan pays off.
Revolut Business plans and what they cost
These are the plans for a business account in Spain, as Revolut publishes them (checked on 23 October 2026). All of them are billed monthly; Revolut does not offer quarterly or annual billing.
| Plan | Per month | Exchange at interbank rate | Free international transfers | Free local transfers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | €10.00 | €1,000.00 | 0 | 10 |
| Grow | €35.00 | €15,000.00 | 5 | 100 |
| Scale | €125.00 | €60,000.00 | 25 | 1,000 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom |
All four include accounts in 30+ currencies, a Spanish IBAN, free transfers between Revolut accounts, virtual cards and the option to take card payments, payment links and invoices. What changes from one plan to the next, if you get paid from abroad, is the three allowance columns. The extra features on Grow and Scale (approvals, bills, purchase orders, bulk transfers, APIs) are built for teams, not for one person.
Does Revolut Business charge to receive money?
For incoming bank transfers, no. The Basic and Grow fee schedules say incoming transfers in USD, GBP, EUR and CHF "are always free": they do not use up the local or the international transfer allowance. If a US client pays you in dollars to your dollar account details, the money arrives in full.
The cost comes later, when you convert. Inside your plan allowance, Revolut exchanges at the interbank rate with no fee during market hours. Above it, it charges 0.6% of what you exchange, and 1% if you exchange outside foreign exchange market hours. A $5,000.00 invoice converted to euros once the allowance is used up costs $30.00; the same payment received and converted with Wise, $14.50. I compare them in more detail in Wise vs Revolut.
Which Revolut Business plan pays off
If you only look at currency exchange, the maths is simple. Grow costs €25.00 a month more than Basic and lets you exchange €14,000.00 more without a fee. That saving reaches €25.00 once you convert €5,166.67 a month: below that, Basic is cheaper; above it, Grow. Between Grow and Scale the break-even point is €30,000.00 a month.
| Converted per month | Basic | Grow | Scale |
|---|---|---|---|
| €1,000.00 | €10.00 | €35.00 | €125.00 |
| €3,000.00 | €22.00 | €35.00 | €125.00 |
| €5,000.00 | €34.00 | €35.00 | €125.00 |
| €10,000.00 | €64.00 | €35.00 | €125.00 |
| €20,000.00 | €124.00 | €65.00 | €125.00 |
| €40,000.00 | €244.00 | €185.00 | €125.00 |
The table adds the plan fee and the 0.6% on whatever goes over the allowance, always exchanging during market hours; the cheapest plan is in bold. Transfers you send count too: Basic includes no international ones and each costs €5.00, so with five a month Basic already costs €35.00 before you exchange a single euro, the same as Grow (€35.00), which includes them. If you send international transfers often, the break-even point drops a lot. For your own numbers:

Revolut Business fees outside the plan
This is what you pay on top, according to the Spanish fee schedules in force since 22 September 2026:
- Transfers over the allowance: €5.00 per international transfer and €0.20 per local one. Guaranteed SWIFT (OUR) transfers and card transfers have their own fee, shown in the app before you confirm.
- ACH to the US: 0.2% of the amount, with a minimum of €0.50, and outside the free allowance.
- Online card payments you accept: 1% + €0.20 on EEA consumer cards, 1.7% on American Express and 2.8% + €0.20 on any other card, business cards and non-European cards included. In person, from 0.8% + €0.02.
- Chargebacks: €15.00 if the payment was in euros, $20.00 if it was in dollars.
- ATMs outside Spain: 2% beyond whatever your plan includes.
- Apps: Expenses at €8.00 and Payroll at €3.00 per active team member per month. A metal card costs €57.99.
- FX forwards: 0.8% between USD, GBP and EUR.
Keeping the account open costs nothing else: Revolut says there is no maintenance fee beyond the plan.
How to pay less on Revolut Business
- Exchange during market hours. Outside them the fee goes up to 1%, and it applies inside the allowance too, where you would normally pay nothing.
- Do not convert what you will spend in that currency. If you pay for tools in dollars, pay from the dollar balance: every round trip loses twice.
- Match the plan to your real volume. Upgrading for a heavy month is immediate, but the billing cycle restarts and what you already paid is not refunded. Downgrades apply from the next cycle. On Grow, if you downgrade within the first 14 days without using any of the plan's benefits, the fee is refunded.
- Ask for a bank transfer, not a card. As a freelancer in Tarragona I invoice clients in the US, the UK and the EU, and on large invoices a free incoming transfer beats any card payment: the 2.8% Revolut charges on a non-EEA card eats more than any monthly fee.
To work out one specific payment, with your amount and your client's country, there is the Revolut Business fee card. And if you are not sure yet how much a conversion loses, start with the currency conversion markup.
